At the height of the Korean War that began on the 25th June 1950, a remote community remains sheltered from the brutal conflict raging in its midst. But when two deserters from the South and a small Northern army unit stumble upon Dongmakgol at the same time, a terrible conflict looks set to shatter its peaceful existence.
Yet Dongmakgol is an almost magical place. A heaven where the beauty of nature and the simplicity of life encourage the warring visitors to set aside their differences and join together in a desperate bid to defend the innocence of its people.
