Skyfall is the 23rd instalment of the longest-running film franchise of all time, the James Bond series. Directed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road to Perdition, Revolutionary Road), this action-packed film is a culmination of everything that makes 007 great, along with nods to the humour found in previous films.

James Bond (Daniel Craig) finds his loyalty to M (Judi Dench) tested as her past returns to haunt her. When MI6 comes under attack from a cyber-terrorist, 007 must do everything it takes to track down the threat. Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men, Vicky Cristina Barcelona) is superb as the sinister villain, Raoul Silva, and as the film unfolds you discover his dark past. - A.D.
