Recruited as a freedom fighter by a militant anti-fascist organisation, trained assassin Hugo finds he is asked to defend a very different cause when he discovers 12-year-old Alice hiding in his car. Having just made a statement to the police accusing her domineering mother of murder, Alice is now on the run and desperately seeking help to find her father, who is somewhere in Portugal.
