A nun starves to death, having locked herself in a tower at a convent. TV journalist Jemima Shore, a former pupil at the convent school who knew the dead nun, is invited by the Reverend Mother to investigate the incident; but as Jemima gets closer to the heart of the mystery, a sinister figure haunts the convent - and will stop at nothing to keep the truth within its walls.
