Julie Christie Collection - The Go-Between/Billy Liar
€40.49

Julie Christie was one of the most famous actresses to grace the British screen, as well as those of the rest of the world. She is most famously known for her on screen magnetism, which has by no means faded as she has grown older. This boxset contains some of the films that helped to carve her career as one of the best known actresses of her time.
Christie's first major film role was in Billy Liar (1963) where she played Liz, the friend and "would be lover" of the eponymous Billy Liar played by Tom Courtenay and directed by John Schlesinger. Schlesinger then went on to direct Christie in her breakthrough role in Darling (1965), a poignant story of a stylish amoral model. Christie won numerous awards for Darling, including an Oscar.
Later she played Thomas Hardy's heroine Bathsheba Everdene in Schlesinger's acclaimed adaptation of Far From The Madding Crowd (1967). The final film in the boxset starring Julie Christie along side Alan Bates is The Go-Between (1971), which was based in the novel written by L.P Hartley.
