Anti-Clock is Jane Arden at her most experimental. A favourite film of Andy Warhol it is an experimental sci-fi film comparable to Chris Marker's LA JETTE. The use of video is reminiscent of Godard's experimentation with the format in films such as NUMERO DEUX or ÉLOGE DE L'AMOUR. I think in some ways the film prefigures David Lynch's INLAND EMPIRE with its use of video and anti-realism. ‘Anti-Clock is a film of authentic, startling originality.
